About Wallace

Wallace Groundworks and Civils Limited was formed by Peter Wallace, who made the decision to leave his position as a Contracts Manager and embark on his first solo contract of 8 dwellings in Pilsley, Chesterfield for a local developer.

The company soon expanded far greater than Pete had envisaged in its first year and from its humble beginning rapidly built a client base of leading regional contractors and developers.

The company today employs a labour force of 20+ hand selected Site Managers and Operatives with the capacity to undertake developments in excess of 100 units incorporating roads and sewers. Due to the continued growth, Pete has also assembled a Management team and has recently taken occupation of a 2-storey office building near the heart of Chesterfield.

Whilst the company is still in its infancy with a combined industry experience of over 80 years the leadership team has been able to offer technical knowledge and value engineering to help develop client relationships and build trust.

The company made considerable investment into plant and equipment and through continual progress monitoring develops operative skills and qualifications which will always be a backbone of the methodology of Wallace Groundworks ethos that the client’s belief and satisfaction is its priority.

Wallace Groundworks and Civils main objective of Customer Satisfaction is built on our employee professionalism. We believe that a continual company-wide training programme ensures that operatives and supervisors are highly qualified and motivated to deliver the company’s goal. We promote from within and developing home grown talent. We encourage where possible internal opportunity and are firm supporters of the national apprenticeship scheme.
